Run Eight: 8 Minute Run, 1 Minute Walk

Jon ran off!

Sorry, not sorry. Runners diet.
Eurghhh, the clocks have gone back and in typical Rose fashion I did not sleep an extra hour instead I woke up at some godforsaken hour and decided to go running…

I reassessed my run on Thursday and decided that 8 minutes run to 1 minute walk might be a bit ambitious as I spent most of Thursday wrapped up in a duvet on my sofa. As I have an essay due and need to remain alive and sprightly all day I decided I would do an 8 minute run with a 2 minute recovery time and repeat this 6 times. This was pretty tough and although I wasn't out of breath when I finished, my bones were not feeling so swell. Throughout the run I contracted pains in both of my hips, it didn't stop me running but it did make running a little more uncomfortable than usual. When I finished I spent a lot longer than I would have normally done stretching out my legs which made all the difference.

I am going to aim to get my recovery time back to to 1 minute per run and attempt 9 minutes on Tuesday. I am also going to try to soften my impact when running as I think this might have had something to do with the pain I felt in my hips.

Happy Weekend Running :)
