Okay.

For those of you that don't know how the London Marathon works, a few days after the race you are given a day to sign up for the next years marathon. The first wave of runners are given ballot places, there are only a few spaces available and competition is extremely high. If you have applied for one of these ballot spaces, you will receive a magazine from 'Marathon News' at the beginning of October that says either 'You're In!' or 'Sorry!'

I am sure you know where I am going with this…

On the 1st October 2014, I received a phone call from my mum that went a little bit like this:

Mum: Two of the London Marathon magazines came through the door and they both say the same thing…

Me: Oh, that's a shame, well we will have to try again next… *Mum cuts in*

Mum: Well… actually there is no need because both you and your Dad will be running the 2015 marathon, you're in!

*Silence*

Mum: Rose?

*Silence*

Mum: Are you there?

Rose: urmm

So, yes, that means I am running the London Marathon.
Anyone that knows me will know that I am a little bit allergic to exercise and the idea of running even 1 mile is not only unpleasant but actually makes me want to curl up in a ball on the floor and cry, so the thought of 26…I genuinely think I am going to die.
I am, however, not a quitter and I said I would do it so I am going to do it. Mum ran through some rather horrific sporting injuries and Dad is, well, really old, so what is my excuse?

This blog will document and monitor my progress for the next 6 months. From not being able to run to the nearest corner shop to, fingers crossed, running 26 miles.

I am not really sure what I have got myself into.
