Run Twenty-Nine: 70 minutes!

Looking unbelievably tired because I am going running at 8am on a Saturday!

Ran to Hampstead and back

I have no idea what this means...

Minutes per mile

Tired...
The time is 8am on a Sunday and we're going for a run...

The first picture is what running on very little sleep looks like. On the plus side, I got my Macmillan T-shirt. As some of you may know, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, you can donate here. Every penny counts and it really is a fantastic cause to support so give generously.

Jon and I have been a bit lazy with our training this week. Juggling an MA, a job and countless other things in London can prove difficult BUT we're back and today we did 70 minutes! That is the furthest I have ever run and it felt great. Not only did we get to run around Hampstead Heath in the sun surrounded by lots of lovely dogs, we also didn't feel tired when we finished, in fact, I felt like I could have run a bit further. Result! I am now wrapped up in a duvet on the sofa with a hot water bottle desperately trying to keep my eyes open BUT I wasn't tired whilst I was running so I definitely think that's a result.

Using my great Runkeeper app (new favourite app) I know we ran 6.42 miles (that is over 10k!!) and averaged 10:55 minutes a mile. We also burned 767 calories, apparently, which means I can have a large slice of chocolate cake today... (that's how it works, right?)

I promise to be more proactive in my training next week. I will also start lifting weights and eating more smoothies...promise.
